Canadian Foodgrains Bank

Canadian Foodgrains Bank logoEstablished in 1983, the Canadian Foodgrains Bank is a Canadian-based Christian organization that helps provide food and development assistance to people in need. ADRA Canada is one of 13 Canadian Church Agencies which owns the Canadian Foodgrains Bank. These agencies pool resources, both human and financial, and work collaboratively together in a Christian Response to Hunger.

Today, Canadian Foodgrains Bank ranks among the largest private food aid providers in the world. End Hunger Fast logoEnd Hunger FastDonations made by Canadians have helped Canadian Foodgrains Bank and its members provide over 800,000 metric tonnes of food to people who are hungry throughout the world.

Canadian International Development Agency

The Canadian International Development Agency supports sustainable development in developing countries in order to reduce poverty and to contribute to a more secure, equitable and CIDA logoprosperous world. Working with partners in the private and public sectors in Canada and in developing countries, and with international organizations and agencies, CIDA supports foreign aid projects in more than 100 of the poorest countries of the world. The objective: to work with developing countries and countries in transition to develop the tools to eventually meet their own needs.

COCAMO

COCAMO was launched in 1988 by a coalition of Canadian civil society organisations to provide technical assistance and emergency aid in response to requests from the Mozambican people. Over the years their coalition has included development agencies,church-based development organisations, unions and solidarity groups. This diversity of members and their representatives’ passion for COCAMO and the people of Mozambique have made them one of the longest serving coalitions for change in Canada.

Colin B. Glassco Charitable Foundation for Children

The Colin B. Glassco Charitable Foundation for Children received its charitable status in 1996. Its mandate is to seek out children’s issues in Canada and overseas, provide financial and organizational assistance as well as on-site support. ADRA Canada’s cooperation with the Glassco Foundation focuses on projects benefiting children in Zambia.

World Council for African Development (WOCAD Inc.)

WOCAD Inc. works not only to alleviate the condition of poverty, but also to address and alleviate the sources of poverty. To achieve its mission, WOCAD is dedicated to working with institutions and organizations to help Africans to improve the quality of their lives and assist Africa to develop. The organization supports local and international health projects to educate and draw awareness to not only HIV/AIDS disease but also other diseases like blindness, cancer, cardiac and other infectious diseases like malaria that is killing millions of people in Sub Sahara Africa.

Smiles Foundation

The Smiles Foundation is dedicated to giving children of the developing world an opportunity for a healthier, more fruitful existence. Its principle goal is to offer free preventive health education and curative dental treatments to children in dental offices and through mobile clinics in the Dominican Republic. The same services are provided to adults at low cost.

The Smiles Foundation has been a partner of ADRA Canada for many years implementing mobile clinics in remote areas of Dominican Republic.
