Families would rather sleep in the cold than return to their homes.
On November 26, 2019, as most slept, Albania was struck by the strongest earthquake in 40 years. Thirty-one people have died, 650 people are injured, and thousands are outside in the cold because they fear their homes might crumble on top of them during the next aftershock.
ADRA is responding with distributions of food, tarpaulins, mattresses, and bedding. A small camp of tents is currently being built. Meals are being provided to those whose houses were severely damaged.
More support is needed to assist those who have been affected.
